Under The Hard Hat announces two Irish charity partnerships

Under The Hard Hat, the mental health awareness campaign launched by Pirtek in October last year, is pleased to announce two new charity partnerships that will cover both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

In Northern Ireland the chosen charity partner is PIPS Suicide Prevention Ireland. PIPS helps individuals, families and organisations who have been affected by mental unwellness and suicide. It provides counselling and befriending support to individuals who are experiencing or have experienced suicidal thoughts or mental unwellness as well as support to families and friends who have been touched by suicide.

PIPS operates out of three different locations in Northern Ireland, Belfast, Londonderry and Enniskillen. The charity is proud to be able to offer a free walk in service for anyone who is struggling with no appointment needed.

In the Republic of Ireland (ROI) Pieta will become the chosen charity partner. Operating in 20 different locations through the ROI, the charity offers support to those who struggle with self harm and suicidal distress, offering over 300 trained therapists across its locations.

Pieta provides bereavement support to families who are facing suicide trauma as well as awareness programmes designed to empower young people with coping mechanisms to prevent them potentially incurring suicidal or self-harm thoughts in the future.

Commenting on the new partnership, Adam Burrows, Managing Director of Pirtek UK and Ireland said, “The Under the Hard Hat initiative is a core programme for us and we are delighted to add two new charity partners to the existing partnership we have with Andy’s Man Club in the UK. We look forward to developing our partnership with PIPS and Pieta over the coming weeks and working together to continue the work of promoting positive mental health in the workplace and beyond.”
